Corner plot house design: how it works
A corner plot has a road on two sides, which means an extra open space on the side road but also more light, more windows and a separate guest entrance. Pick your plot size; the side road is already ticked on the left (change it if yours is on the right).
Is a corner plot better for a house?
It gets more light and air and can have a separate entrance for guests, but you must leave open space on the side road too, so the covered area is a little smaller.
Where should the car porch go on a corner plot?
Usually on the side away from the side road, so the drawing room can sit on the corner with its own door to the side road for guests.
How to make a house floor plan for your plot
- Pick your plot size (5 marla, 10 marla, 1 kanal…) or type the width and length in feet.
- Tick the sides that have a road. Corner plots have a road on the left or right.
- Choose single or double story, the number of bedrooms, car porch and drawing room.
- Press Make floor plans and compare up to 4 layouts. Download the image or print it to show your family, architect or builder.
The plans follow the way most Pakistani houses are built: the car porch and drawing room at the front, the TV lounge with the kitchen and stairs in the middle, and bedrooms with attached baths and dressing areas at the back. Every room gets a door, bedrooms get windows on an outside wall where possible, and on a double story house the stairs and walls of the first floor sit over the ground floor.
Questions
What size is a 5 marla, 10 marla or 1 kanal plot?
In most housing societies a marla is 225 sq ft: 5 marla is usually 25 × 45 ft, 10 marla 35 × 65 ft and 1 kanal 50 × 90 ft. Older areas and land records use 272.25 sq ft per marla, so check your plot's real width and length and type them in.
How big should a car porch be?
About 11 × 17 ft fits one car with room to open the doors. Small cars (Alto, Cultus, Wagon R) need about 15 ft of length. Two cars side by side need about 20 ft of width.
What are setbacks?
Open space you must leave between the house and the plot boundary, usually at the front and back, and on the sides of large and corner plots. The tool fills in typical values; your society or development authority sets the exact rules.
Can I build directly from these plans?
No. They are concept layouts to compare ideas. A qualified architect or engineer must prepare the final drawings and the structure (columns, beams, foundations), and the plan must be approved before construction.
Is my plot information saved or uploaded?
No. The plans are made in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
