What size should a WhatsApp DP be?
640 × 640 pixels is plenty. Type 640 as the final width before downloading.
Will my face be cut off in the round DP?
Keep your face in the middle of the square; apps show a circle inside it.
Crop a photo online

Questions
Does cropping reduce quality?
No. The cropped part keeps the original pixels. Only typing a larger final width than the crop can make it look soft.
