Islamic date today in Pakistan: how it works
This page shows today's Islamic date with a one-day adjustment, because Pakistan's months often begin a day after Saudi Arabia's. The actual date depends on the Ruet-e-Hilal committee's moon sighting, so it can occasionally differ by a day. Change the adjustment if needed.
Why is Pakistan's Islamic date different from Saudi Arabia's?
Each Islamic month starts when the new moon is sighted. Pakistan often sees it a day later, so dates are frequently one day behind.
Can I convert my birthday to the Hijri calendar?
Yes. Use the English → Hijri tab and enter your date of birth.
About Hijri dates
The Islamic (Hijri) calendar follows the moon: each month is 29 or 30 days, and a year is about 11 days shorter than the English year. That's why Ramadan and Eid move earlier each year. This converter uses the Umm al-Qura calendar built into your browser, with an optional adjustment for local moon sighting in Pakistan.
Questions
Why does my date differ from the calendar at home?
Printed calendars are made in advance. The actual start of each month in Pakistan depends on the moon sighting committee's announcement, so dates can shift by one day.
Why is there no 30th for some months?
Hijri months have either 29 or 30 days. If a month has 29 days, the 30th doesn't exist, and the converter tells you.
